Polish exfoliation and mechanism
Our house-made polish is designed to remove old, dry dead skin cell layers on the hands so topical oils can penetrate more effectively. The polish works by loosening surface flakes and smoothing the texture; that initial exfoliation creates the mechanical pathway that makes subsequent massage and oil application more productive for perceived softness.
In a local context like New Hope and Peddler's Village, repeated exposure to seasonal dryness or outdoor activities can build up rough skin. Regularly exfoliating with a targeted polish helps reset the skin surface, letting moisturizers reach the deeper outer layers instead of sitting on top of hardened flakes.
Oil massage and heated gloves
After the polish removes surface debris, a therapeutic oil is massaged into the hands to increase slipperiness and aid penetration. The massage itself moves oil into creases and around joints while supporting circulation in the soft tissues; this combination aids distribution of the product rather than relying on topical application alone.
Heated gloves are used following the massage to gently warm the treated area and help oils absorb more evenly. Because this is an add-on service, clients commonly choose it during other appointments or as a focused finish, especially when preparing for weekends or visits to nearby shops and dining in Peddler's Village.
What to expect and care
Expect a focused, hands-only sequence: polish application and rinse, oil massage, and a final warmed-glove phase that leaves the skin feeling softer to the touch. The service emphasizes immediate smoothing and moisturization; however, individual responses vary with skin type and local seasonal conditions, so results are perceptual rather than guaranteed.
Before treatment, tell your therapist about any skin sensitivities, allergies, or recent hand procedures so we can tailor the approach. After the service, you may want to avoid abrasive home treatments for a short time; your therapist can recommend simple at-home maintenance compatible with local climate and lifestyle.
